Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GetPaird (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
The Platform is a tournament management service that allows users to organize, manage, and participate in trading card game and tabletop game tournaments. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Platform operator. They apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform.
2. Definitions
- Platform: GetPaird and all its services, features, and content, including web application, APIs, and related tools.
- User: Any individual who creates an account on the Platform.
- Organizer: A User who creates and manages tournaments through an Organization.
- Player/Participant: A User who registers for and participates in tournaments.
- Organization: An entity created on the Platform to organize tournaments and events.
- Staff: A User assigned a role (Admin, Head Judge, Scorekeeper, Judge, or Coverage) within an Organization or Tournament.
- Event: A container grouping multiple related Tournaments under a single schedule and location.
- Tournament: A competitive event managed through the Platform, with its own registrations, rounds, pairings, and standings.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You may register using an email address and password, or through a third-party authentication provider (Google or Discord). You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your password.
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Not create multiple accounts for the same person.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Platform.
You may link your account to third-party providers (Google, Discord) for convenient sign-in. You can manage linked accounts from your profile settings. The Platform receives only your name, email, and profile picture from these providers.
You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Account deletion is permanent and requires email confirmation. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed, though some data may be retained as required by law (see our Privacy Policy).
4. Acceptable Use
The Platform is provided as a tool to facilitate tournament organization. You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its servers.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
- Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes.
- Scrape, mine, or collect data from the Platform without authorization.
- Use the Platform to launder money or engage in financial fraud.
- Submit false tournament results or manipulate standings.
- Abuse the self-reporting system by submitting inaccurate match results.
- Circumvent tournament rules, registration restrictions, or player bans.
- Use join codes or registration links obtained without authorization.
5. Organizations
Organizations must be submitted for review and approved by Platform administrators before they can create tournaments. As an Organization owner, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your organization.
- Not use the Platform to collect payments for tournaments you do not intend to run.
- Handle player data responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
- Accept responsibility for the actions of staff members you assign.
The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate any Organization that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or fails to fulfill its obligations to players. An Organization may be marked as hidden, have its trusted status revoked, or be permanently removed.
Organizations may assign staff roles to Users. Staff roles (Admin, Head Judge, Scorekeeper, Judge, Coverage) grant specific permissions within the Organization and its tournaments. Organization owners are responsible for managing their staff and ensuring appropriate role assignments. Staff assigned at the Organization level automatically inherit their role across all of that Organization's tournaments.
Organizations may ban specific players. Banned players are prevented from registering for that Organization's tournaments.
6. Tournaments and Events
6.1 Tournament Organization
Organizers can create tournaments with various configurations, including:
- Multiple competitive structures: Swiss, Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Round Robin.
- Multi-phase tournaments (e.g. Swiss qualifying rounds followed by a Single Elimination Top 8).
- Booster Draft formats with pod management, seating assignments, and building phases.
- Multiplayer formats with pod-based matches of three or more players.
- Tournaments may be part of a larger Event grouping multiple tournaments under one schedule.
As an Organizer, you agree to:
- Conduct tournaments fairly and in accordance with the rules you publish.
- Not cancel paid tournaments without providing refunds to registered players.
- Provide accurate tournament information (dates, location, rules, format, entry fee).
- Use the penalty system fairly and consistently.
- Ensure judge decisions are made impartially.
6.2 Player Participation
By registering for and participating in a tournament, you agree to:
- Comply with the tournament rules published by the Organizer.
- Report match results accurately when using the self-reporting feature.
- Confirm or dispute opponent-reported results honestly.
- Submit decklists when required, and not modify a locked decklist.
- Accept penalties issued by judges and staff for rule infractions.
- Accept that dropping from a tournament is irreversible.
The Platform supports a self-reporting system where players can submit and confirm match results. Disputed results are escalated to tournament judges for resolution. Submitting false results may result in penalties including disqualification.
The Platform provides a judge call system, penalty tracking, and time extensions. Penalties are recorded and visible to tournament staff. Penalty levels include caution, warning, game loss, match loss, and disqualification.
6.3 Registration and Join Codes
Tournaments may offer different registration modes: open registration, invite-only, or approval required. Tournament capacity may be limited, and a waitlist system may apply.
Organizers may generate join codes to facilitate registration. These codes may have usage limits and expiration conditions. Join codes are intended for authorized distribution only.
6.4 Decklists
Tournaments may require decklist submission. Decklists can be created, imported (including from Moxfield), and managed through the Platform. Once a tournament Organizer locks decklists, modifications are no longer permitted. Decklists may be verified by tournament staff.
You retain ownership of your decklists. Decklists submitted for a tournament may be visible to tournament staff for verification purposes.
6.5 Test Mode
Tournaments may be created in test mode for training or testing purposes. Test mode tournaments do not represent real competitive events, and results obtained in test mode have no competitive standing.
7. Payments and Fees
The Platform supports paid tournament registrations through two payment processors:
7.1 Stripe Connect
- All Stripe payments are processed securely through Stripe Connect. The Platform does not store credit card information.
- A platform commission is deducted from each paid registration. The percentage is set per Organization.
- For standard Organizations, funds are held by the Platform until the tournament is completed and a cooling-off period has passed (typically 7 days).
- For trusted Organizations (verified by Platform administrators), funds may be transferred immediately upon payment.
- Organizations must complete Stripe identity verification (KYC) before receiving payments.
- Stripe processing fees apply to all transactions.
7.2 HelloAsso
- Some tournaments may use HelloAsso as an alternative payment processor, particularly for associations.
- HelloAsso payments are processed through an embedded widget. The Platform confirms payment via webhook notifications.
- Refunds for HelloAsso payments must be processed directly through HelloAsso.com by the Organizer. The Platform cannot issue automatic refunds for HelloAsso payments.
7.3 General Payment Terms
- Organizers are responsible for any applicable taxes on income received through the Platform.
- All payment transactions are recorded in an audit trail for transparency and dispute resolution.
- The Platform may block payouts if open disputes or chargebacks are detected on a tournament's payments.
- For paid tournaments using Stripe, Organizations must have an active Stripe Connect account. Paid tournament creation is blocked without an active account.
8. Refunds and Cancellations
Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information about refunds and cancellations.
Key principles:
- If a tournament is cancelled by the organizer, all paid Stripe registrations are automatically refunded.
- Refund processing fees (charged by Stripe) are borne by the Organizer.
- Individual refund requests are handled by the tournament Organizer.
- HelloAsso refunds must be processed directly through HelloAsso.com.
- Tournaments with paid registrations cannot be deleted — they must be cancelled instead, which triggers the refund process.
9. Intellectual Property
The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the Platform operator. You retain ownership of content you upload (logos, descriptions, decklists, images). By uploading content, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the service.
The Platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher (including but not limited to Wizards of the Coast, The Pokemon Company, Konami, Bandai, etc.). All game names, card names, and related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Card images and card data displayed on the Platform are sourced from third-party APIs and belong to their respective copyright holders. The Platform displays this content for informational purposes only.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Results obtained from the Platform will be accurate or reliable.
- Any defects will be corrected.
- Tournament results, standings, or pairings are free from errors.
- Pairing algorithms will produce optimal or expected outcomes in all situations.
- Timer countdowns will be perfectly accurate across all devices and network conditions.
The Platform is a tool to assist tournament organization. Organizers are ultimately responsible for the conduct and fairness of their tournaments. Staff and judges make final decisions on tournament matters using the Platform as a support tool.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Platform.
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or personal information.
- Any interruption or cessation of service.
- Actions or omissions of tournament Organizers.
- Errors in tournament results, pairings, or standings.
- Decisions made by tournament judges or staff.
- Payment processing failures or delays by Stripe or HelloAsso.
- Loss of decklist data or tournament records.
- Inaccurate geolocation data or proximity calculations.
12. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Platform, or third parties. This includes but is not limited to:
- Fraudulent payment activity or financial abuse.
- Repeated submission of false tournament results.
- Harassment of other users.
- Violation of applicable laws.
- Circumventing player bans or registration restrictions.
You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Deletion requires email confirmation and is irreversible.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes between Players and Organizers regarding tournament results, conduct, or refunds should first be resolved directly between the parties. The Platform may intervene at its discretion but is not obligated to do so.
For payment disputes, the Platform provides a cooling-off period during which players can report issues. For Stripe payments, the Platform may process refunds on behalf of the Organizer if funds are still held. As a last resort, players may initiate a chargeback through their payment provider.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be governed by the laws of France and resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
14. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform.
15. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please contact us through the feedback form available in the footer of every page, or via the contact information provided on the Platform.
