Managing phases, generating rounds, entering results, and completing rounds.

Phases Tab

The Phases tab shows the tournament structure as a visual pipeline β€” a sequence of phases connected by arrows, with cut indicators between them.

Phase Pipeline

Each phase card shows:

  • Sequence number (colored badge).
  • Phase name.
  • Type badge: Swiss, Single Elimination, Double Elimination, or Round Robin.

  • Status: Pending, Active, or Completed.
  • Number of rounds and players.
  • Cut indicator: If a cut is configured, an arrow between phases shows "Top N" or "Min X pts".

Phase Actions

Create Phase Start Phase Advance to Next Phase
  • Create Phase β€” Opens the phase creation form. Choose from pre-built templates (Swiss + Top 8, 2-Day Tournament) or create a custom phase.
  • Edit Phase β€” Modify phase settings (scoring, tiebreakers, pairing algorithm, etc.).
  • Start Phase β€” Activate the phase. The tournament status moves to "In Progress".
  • Complete Phase β€” Mark the phase as finished.
  • Advance to Next Phase β€” Complete the current phase, apply the cut, and start the next phase.
  • Delete Phase β€” Remove the phase (only if no rounds have been generated).

Phase Creation Options

When creating a phase, you can configure:

  • Config mode (Constructed, Booster Draft, or Multiplayer).
  • Phase type (Swiss, Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Round Robin).
  • Number of rounds.
  • Best-of setting (Bo1 or Bo3).
  • Scoring: win points, draw points, loss points, bye points.
  • Tiebreakers: drag-and-drop to set priority order.
  • Tiebreaker floor (0.33 for MTG, 0.25 for Pokemon, 0 for none).
  • Cut configuration: Top N or minimum points.
  • Table numbering: starting table or ending table.
  • Power pairings for last round.
  • Deterministic toss (auto-assign who goes first).
  • Bye selection mode.
  • Self-reporting toggle.
  • Pairings / Standings visibility defaults.
  • Open decklists toggle.
  • Late enrollment penalty mode (byes vs losses).

Pairings Tab

The Pairings tab is the main control center during active tournament play. This is where you generate rounds, enter results, and manage the flow of the tournament.

Round Tabs

Horizontal tabs at the top let you switch between rounds. Each tab shows the round number, and active rounds have a green pulsing dot. Rounds are grouped by phase.

Pairings Published Quick Entry Complete Round Generate Next Round Edit Pairings
  • Pairings Published (eye icon) β€” Toggle whether players can see their pairings. When enabled, pairings appear in the Player Portal.
  • Standings Published (eye icon) β€” Toggle whether standings are visible to players.
  • Reported counter β€” Shows "X/Y reported" to track result entry progress.
  • Quick Entry β€” Opens the Quick Entry page for fast result input.
  • Complete Round β€” Marks the current round as completed. Only available when all results are reported.
  • Generate Next Round β€” Creates the next round of pairings. Available after completing the current round.
  • Edit Pairings β€” Opens a modal for manual pairing management. Shows the number of unpaired players as a badge.

More Menu (dropdown)

  • Recreate Pairings β€” Delete all pairings in the current round and regenerate them. Destructive action with confirmation.
  • Recalculate Toss β€” Re-run toss assignment (if toss is enabled).
  • Delete Round β€” Remove the entire round. Destructive action.
  • Match Slips β€” Open a print-friendly page with match slips (physical paper slips with barcodes for each table).
  • Export CSV β€” Download the pairings as a CSV file.

Search & Filters

Player search Missing Disputed
  • Player search β€” Find a specific player in the pairings.
  • Table search β€” Jump to a specific table number.
  • Missing filter β€” Show only matches without results (amber button).
  • Disputed filter β€” Show only disputed matches (red button).
  • Pod filter β€” Filter by pod number (draft phases only).

Pairings Table

Each row shows a match: table number, Player 1 vs Player 2, result entry fields, and status. Click a player's name to open their Player Card modal. Results are entered inline with score fields.

After all rounds are complete, a panel appears at the bottom with:

Manual Pairing Tools

From the Edit Pairings modal, you can:

  • Create manual pairings between specific players.
  • Swap players between tables.
  • Unpair a match (return players to the unpaired pool).
  • Assign a bye to a specific player.
  • Assign a loss to a player.

Quick Entry

Quick Entry is a streamlined interface designed for fast result entry during active rounds. Ideal for scorekeepers processing results at a high pace.

  • Back to Pairings link.
  • Player count (enrolled / dropped).
  • Round tabs for quick switching.
  • Timer display with color-coded countdown.
  • Reported counter (X/Y reported).
  • Actions dropdown β€” Complete Round, Generate Next Round, Toggle Pairings/Standings visibility.

How it works

The page shows all pairings in a list. Click a pairing to select it, enter the score (P1 wins, P2 wins, draws), and press Confirm to submit and move to the next match. Use Tab to navigate between fields and Enter to confirm for maximum speed.
